Mid-May an international group of four experienced riders and three pillions from the Algarve Senior Bikers Club (ASB) set out to explore the Sierra de Gredos and Serra da Estrela, two rugged mountain ranges in western Spain and central Portugal, both of which asked riders and pillions for a challenging dance on narrow twisted roads.

The Algarve Senior Biker's April ride offered members the choice of a ride though the Monchique mountains, with spectacular views from one of the highest roads in the Algarve, and a visit to the barragem after a refreshment break by the river in Silves.

On March 28th the Algarve Senior Bikers took advantage of the bright Spring sunshine for a visit to the West coast. Meeting in Silves, the Riders took the hilly road across to São Marcos de Serra before heading further north via Nave Redonda and West towards Sao Teotonio on some beautiful roads, with gentle sweeping bends, allowing the two groups to move at a nice steady pace.

Estoi Palace International Rotary Club (RCEPI)  was delighted to receive a visit from Vitor Cordeiro our Rotary International District Governor (DG).  This is an opportunity for the Club to show the DG work that has been done in the local community and internationally.  

The Algarve Senior Bikers had what could only be described as a somewhat cool ride on the way to the meeting point for the February ride, due to the gusty cold northerly wind.

The Bella Acapella Chorus are an international mixed chorus who love to sing and have fun. Singing together during our rehearsals and our concerts is joyful, singing barbershop style is about enjoying close harmony chords, singing with passion and engaging the audience.

The Saint Andrew’s Society of the Algarve duly held their Burns Supper at the Ponte Romana restaurant in Silves on Saturday 28th January. The Supper was a resounding success with over 130 participants!

The first ride of 2023 for the Algarve Senior Bikers was well attended, with over 40 riders taking part including several new members.
